JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY

Developmental Junior Academy

New to golf? Played a little bit of golf but want to get better? Our Developmental Junior Golf Academy is a great place to start!

This program is designed to build a foundation for a child new to the game and getting him or her more comfortable with learning and playing the game This is the first step in our Junior Academy, students will have the opportunity to earn their way into the Performance Junior Academy.

Performance Junior Academy

Ready to take that next step? The Performance Junior Golf Academy is what you need! This program is designed to take the skills learned in the Developmental Junior Academy and enhance them to better gear the player for a competitive future in golf.

You do not have to participate in our Developmental Junior Academy to enroll. In order to enroll, your junior golfer must:

  • Have played golf on the golf course for a score (not just for fun)
  • Be able to make good contact regularly with the ball airborne
  • Knows how to handle himself/herself in a golf setting
    • Example: knows what a sand wedge is, knows difference between par and bogey
  • Be ready to grow and learn in order to reach your full potential as a junior golfer!

JUNIOR SPEED SERIES

Would you like to hit the ball farther, gain more distance?

It’s essential for junior golfers to start with a good foundation of strength, stability and endurance. Our new Speed Series was created for you to improve your clubhead speed and gain distance in a fun and exciting atmosphere!

Each student will be provided with a variety exercises and physical movements which will help increase:

  • Clubhead speed
  • Power
  • Explosiveness
  • Efficiency and longevity in their golf swing.

Drills will focus on improving:

  • Mobility
  • Stability
  • Footwork
  • Balance
  • Increasing Power
  • Endurance

Regardless of your skill level, increased physical and mental performance will lead to increased golf performance on the course.

JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY WINTER SERIES

Classes are held regularly throughout the week using our indoor and heated Toptracer Bays. Junior Academy Sessions can be bought individually or in nonconsecutive packages of 4, 8 or 12. Class days and times along with instructor are listed below. When registering, first choose the number of sessions you wish to attend followed by the day and time.

This program is designed to build a foundation for kids new to the game of golf letting them get more comfortable with learning and playing the game. This is the first step in our Junior Academy, students will have the opportunity to earn their way into the Performance Junior Academy. This Academy focuses on:

Learn how to transfer the skills you’ve learned from the Performance Junior Academy classes to the golf course with our hour and a half (1.5) class spent entirely on the golf course on Thursdays from 6:00-7:30pm.

  • For all juniors ages 6-17
  • Suggested for all skill levels, including those with zero golf experience
  • Instruction on full swing, short game, rules and etiquette
  • Lunch and snack provided each day
  • Half the day spent on the golf course or Virtual Golf (Top Tracer) and half spent in instructional and game stations
  • Daily gift including hat, sleeve of balls, golf glove, shirt, etc.
  • Equipment provided if needed
  • Campers are broken into groups based on their request, age and skill level

An on-course experience is important for all campers, even absolute beginners, and can be the most fun part of coming to camp! While on course, students will be broken into groups based on request, experience and age. The length of course and format played will be consistent with their skill level and may change to continue challenging them as they progress.

HIGH SCHOOL PREP CAMP

The High School Prep Junior Golf Camp is designed for junior golfers ages 10-17, who play competitively and are getting ready for their high school tryouts. The focus of the camp is to improve the golfer’s skill set allowing them a greater opportunity of making their High School team and/or being more competitive in tournaments.
ABOUT HSP CAMP
Course management, strategy, risk/reward scenarios will be taught to provide students with the ability to navigate their way around the course better. Most of the camp will be conducted on the golf course along with the short game area. Full swing work will be provided as a way to supplement the student’s ability to score better.

This camp is great for any student who wants to learn the art of scoring. Students who already have swing instructors are encouraged to participate. We will work around your swing issues to help you develop as a better player.

ELITE PERFORMANCE SUMMER CAMP
For junior golfers ages 10-18, who aspire to play or are already playing competitive golf, the 1757 Elite Performance Summer Golf Camp is the perfect way to raise the level of their game.

This one week camp is designed, supervised, and taught by Adam Harrell, PGA, one of Top Teachers in the state of Virginia, along with his world-class staff of highly-trained instructors who are experienced in working with every level of golfer from beginner to aspiring Tour Player. Adam works, has worked, with:

  • Michael Brennan 2017 Virginia Junior “Player of the Year”
  • Sihan Sandhu currently ranked #2 in the world
  • Current LPGA Tour Player Lexi Thompson, 10 LPGA Tour Wins

GIRLS WHO GOLF

This series is perfect for the young female golfer who wants to learn the game of golf.

1757 is home to a nationally renowned PGA Jr. League program, ranking #1 in the Mid-Atlantic Section and 8th nationally in 2020. Our mission is to create an atmosphere where players compete in a fun and competitive team based environment. Hosting leagues for players 17 & under and 13 & under, 1757’s PGA Jr. League provides an opportunity for players of all ages and skill levels.

PGA JUNIOR LEAGUE OPTIONS

13u League

Our 13u League features 8 teams divided into two divisions. Teams compete against other teams for a 6 match season. Top 2 teams in each division compete in a playoff with the winner of each match advancing to the League Championship.

17u League

New in 2021: 1757 will host an All Star team for the 17u league. This team will be selected through a try out process and have the opportunity to compete for Sectional and Regional Championships.

Our 17u program feature a 4-6 team league. The teams compete in 6 matches against the other 17u teams with the top two teams competing for the League Championship.

Nationally Ranked All Star Teams

1757 hosts an All Star team that has won on the National Stage, winning the Sectional Championship in 2016, 2018 and 2019; the Regional Championship in 2018 and advancing to the PGA Jr. League Championship in 2018, finishing 5th overall. Our PGA Jr. League Allstar program provides competitive golfers with the opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the country while developing important skills needed to be a part of a team. All Stars are selected through a try out process.

DRIVE, CHIP AND PUTT SERIES

Drive, Chip and Putt Series will return in April of 2021!

Want to compete at Augusta National? By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, Drive, Chip and Putt provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country.

Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conducted at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by Golf Channel. The Junior Academy at 1757 Golf Club will be offering formal practices for the qualifiers for Drive, Chip, and Putt. Each session will be conducted exactly like the actual qualifier will be structured. Practice scores will be taken to see how each competitor will stack up as well as identify any area weaknesses that can be improved upon prior to qualifying. You have the option of registering for individual practices or can register for a series of 4 or register for all practices held throughout the qualifying season.
