The best two words a golfer can hear on the golf course. Maybe there’s more to the meaning of these two words than just saying them to a fellow golfer on the golf course?
Recently, I’ve been going through the process of informing the members and guests of 1757 of my upcoming departure from 1757. I will be assuming the role of assistant general manager at Lake Presidential Golf Club. Lake presidential, located in Upper Marlboro, MD, is one of the most recent courses to become a part of the Billy Casper Golf portfolio. I've been answering questions, receiving hugs, and shaking hands. So many of you have had such great things to say to me that I've been forced to take stock of all of the relationships I’ve built during my time here. It brings to mind a great analogy between golf and my experiences at 1757:
Every golfer knows that feeling when you’ve surveyed the obstacles, trusted your muscle memory, made a great feeling golf swing, and hit an incredible shot. Then someone says “NICE SHOT!” Someone noticed, and acknowledged what you just did. It feels really good, doesn’t it? By now, I think you know where I’m going with this. If you have an opportunity, just give someone a “NICE SHOT”! It goes a long way!
